Lord’s Cricket Ground has entered the market for wine tastings and exhibitions.
Responding to demand from the wine industry for unique venues, Lord’s, known universally as the Home of Cricket, has differentiated its offering between two exclusive spaces within the historic Ground.
The first wine tasting booked in at the ground is the 2012 International Wine Challenge, which will be hosted in the Nursery Pavilion from Saturday 9th April and running to the end of the month. Over 40 countries will be represented by the 10,000 wines expected to be entered next year, taking advantage of the platform Lord’s provides for events intent on widening their global reach.
Both the Nursery Pavilion and the Pavilion packages include a dedicated operations manager, catering staff, reception space and cloakroom service. Dining options for visitors and exhibitors include a regional mezze selection, fresh baguettes and a cheese board.
“Having already hosted several small to mid-size tastings we are well versed in the requirements of the wine industry and are now ready to take the offering to the next level," says Lord's meetings and events sales manager, Nick Kenton. "By creating a formal package for the Nursery Pavilion and by opening the historic Pavilion to tastings we have introduced two very different but similarly inspiring venues to the market.”
