With nearly three months still to go before the event, Newcastle Gateshead already has big plans for Confex 2012.
The convention bureau will have a record 11 partners on its stand at Excel in March all combining to, it is hoped, underline the diversity of venues on offer on Tyneside.
Showing support for the UK events industry, NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau will be hosting a special ‘Britain for Events’ drinks reception on Tuesday 06 March as part of the three day exhibition to celebrate all that’s great about Britain and showcase some of NewcastleGateshead’s most interesting event spaces.
“NewcastleGateshead is a regular face at International Confex and we’re delighted to be joined by more stand partners than ever before,” says head of business tourism, Jessica Roberts. “The events industry is incredibly important to the whole of Britain, and this is typified no better than in NewcastleGateshead where the conference sector has an impact on a whole host of businesses from hospitality and nightlife, to taxis, cleaners and floristry, supporting 5,700 jobs and benefitting the local economy by an estimated £240m each year.
Joining NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau at International Confex in 2012 are:
• Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden
• The Assembly Rooms
• Close House & Golf
• Hilton Newcastle Gateshead
• Newcastle Civic Centre
• Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club
• Newcastle Marriott Hotel Gosforth Park
• Newcastle Racing & Events
