Piggotts lights up Oxford Street today

01 Nov 2011

For the 57th successive year, Piggotts, the provider of Christmas lights, branding and marquees, has designed, manufactured and installed the Christmas lights along London’s Oxford Street.

Piggotts, part of the Crown Group, was contracted by the New West End Company, to install the new star-themed lights over a period of ten days, using over 600,000 LED bulbs which use 75 per cent less energy than conventional bulbs.   The lights will be turned on by girl group ‘The Saturdays’ in front of, what us estimated to be, tens of thousands of people this evening, 1 November.   Piggotts is a British company that was established over 220 years ago, and has a long history of supplying festive lighting and street decorations at many other West End locations, including Regent Street, Bond Street and Marylebone High Street.   “It is an honour to be contracted year on year by the Oxford Street retailers, and we are proud of our new displays," says MD, Lee Harvey. "We have a long tradition of providing the most innovative and unique schemes to many of the UK’s most prestigious locations and look forward to seeing the public enjoy our latest designs over the festive period.”
