New GM and new roles at ICC

23 Sep 2011

The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham has appointed Paul Rutherford as its new general manager to oversee all operational elements of the venue, and assist in developing more external venue management opportunities.   Ruherford comes from tour operator Page & Moy Travel Group where he worked for more than three years as commercial director.    “The ICC has helped Birmingham become renowned for being one of the leading business destinations in the country," he says, "and I’m very excited about this new opportunity to develop the business as the venue approaches its 21st anniversary next April.”   Meanwhile, Catherine Newhall-Caiger moves into a new role as business development director of the ICC’s management team, Group Convention Centres, to pursue new venue management contracts in convention centres around the world.   Catherine’s move to this new position also sees ICC sales director, Liz Carnell, become director of international sales for GCC, which incorporates both the ICC and The Convention Centre Dublin.
